Arnold and Johanna Wochenmark had three children, Linda in 1946, Jeffrey in 1949 and Bernard in 1951. The family was better off in San Francisco. To gain more financial security, Arnold became licensed as an insurance agent in addition to his work as a business manager. This marked the beginning of his second career: starting in 1954, Arnold sold auto and fire insurance and, with his wife, was able to build a family business that soon became an insurance store with a few employees. In 1951, Johanna and Arnold obtained American citizenship and changed their German-sounding name Wochenmark to the French Marque.
