In a film interview, Arnold Marque talked about his Judaism.
Like his own parents, Arnold Marque placed great emphasis on education in the upbringing of his children: All three enjoyed a university education in the United States. Arnold and Johanna Marque raised their children with Jewish traditions and went to synagogue regularly.
Arnold Marque's faith, however, was deeply shaken by the loss of his parents in the Holocaust and the early death of his daughter Linda. He became a member of the group Humanistic Society of Judaism and thus remained deeply connected, if not in faith, to the culture of Judaism.
