Fredy's parents did not want to send their son to the Catholic kindergarten in Baisingen.
It was in the Catholic elementary school that he first came into intensive contact with the Christian religion. "The teacher asked my mother, "Mrs. Kahn, we always get up before class and pray to Jesus, make the cross and say the Lord's Prayer. How am I supposed to handle that with Fredy?" My mother replied, "Fredy gets up the same way, but he doesn't make the cross and he doesn't say the Lord's Prayer, but he respects what the others are doing." "Oh, I see," said Miss Schweizer, "that's possible?" "Yes, that is alright."
Fredy has good memories of his school days in Baisingen.
