In the 1980s, a large banner with a birthday greeting for Adolf Hitler was hung in a neighbouring community of Nagold. As a result, Fredy Kahn decided to appear for the first time as a Jew at a large rally against anti-Semitism and racism. "That changed something in my life."
He participated in the founding of the Association for the Preservation of the Former Baisingen Synagogue as a Memorial Site. In many lectures in the Gäu-Neckar-Alb region, he has spoken about his family, about the Jewish community of Baisingen, and about Israel. In 2014, the Association Concentration Camp Memorial Hailfingen/Tailfingen awarded him honorary membership for his political and social commitment.
