Fredy Kahn recounted:
"My mother was born in 1908 and I was born in 1947. So, she was 39 years old when I was born. That was not an easy story, to have another child at that age."
"... then my parents bought a dog, a Newfoundland dog that would always sit right next to the baby carriage, and the nanny was always with me, so that they could feel assured that someone was watching over me."
The picture on the left shows the happy parents with baby Fredy and dog Arno.
On the right, Fredy is being held by Shoah survivor Karoline Marx, his "Grandma." On the left is his nanny Marlene.
