On his trips as a truck driver, Hillel was always able to visit Zipora in Jerusalem. In 1954 they were married in Shavei Zion.

In 1955, daughter Michal was born, and in 1960, twin daughters Osnat and Daphna.

Zipora worked in Shavei Zion in childcare and agriculture. She learned the German language only in Shavei Zion. That was necessary if she wanted to converse with her parents-in-law, who spoke Hebrew very poorly. 

Grandparents Ludwig and Klara Baum were faithful companions and caretakers of their grandchildren.
