In Germany, Rexingen's grandfather Max Pressburger had died in 1938. He was buried there in the Jewish cemetery.
The grandmother Pauline Pressburger was deported to Theresienstadt in August 1942. In September she was further deported to Treblinka and murdered there.
The grandfather of Hillel in Alzey, Max Baum, had moved to Frankfurt with his daughter Wilhelmine in 1938. From there he was deported to Theresienstadt and then to Treblinka in 1942.
Wilhelmine was deported from Frankfurt to Auschwitz. There are stumbling stones for both of them in Alzey.
