At the end of November 1941, the deportations of Jews from Württemberg to the camps in the East began. Ilse Wälder was deported to Izbica in Poland during the second deportation on April 26, 1942. The last Jewish teacher, Arnold Isenberg, and his wife were also deported with her.

Ilse's parents remained behind in Rexingen.
