The development of the children's book "I am a Star" became an important component of her educational work. In it, she describes her family in Kippenheim and Jebenhausen, her childhood during the National Socialist era, in Theresienstadt and her liberation. The book, which provides young people with fundamental information about the crimes of National Socialism, has been translated into many languages. Other books followed.
In "Beyond the Yellow Star to America," "Running Against the Wind" and "Finding Dr. Schatz," Inge Auberbacher tells of her life in the U.S., of her tuberculosis illness and her work as a contemporary witness.
Her books have also become the basis for documentary films and plays.
