1993 Jakob showed his wife his birthplace Wiesenbronn. Her early death two years later affected him deeply.

Until his old age he worked for the cooperative in Shavei Zion and helped to document the history of the settlement. During the development of an exhibition for the 70th anniversary of the settlement he was one of the most important advisors.

After a severe stroke he could only witness the opening of the exhibition in a wheelchair.
