In the meantime, the Nazis determined daily life also in Wiesenbronn. In 1938 Jakob had to leave school because he was Jewish.

He now went to the Jewish elementary school in Würzburg, 30 km away from Wiesenbronn and lived with the Jewish family Ansbacher. Only on weekends, before Shabbat, did he come home.
