After they were no longer allowed to attend the Catholic kindergarten, there was a kindergarten only for Jewish children. It was housed in the synagogue until November 1938.

Sally's second brother, Lothar, can be seen in the last row on the extreme left. The photo dates to the winter of 1937-1938; at the time, Lothar was five years old.

Kindergarten teacher Käthe Gideon would soon leave Rexingen and emigrate to Mandatory Palestine.
