Trude Schwarz was the last child born to Elias and Thekla Schwarz in Rexingen in 1922. Her father, born 1882, was a cattle trader. The first wife of Elias Schwarz, whose first name also was Thekla, had died in 1918. Two girls were born from each marriage.

The school photograph was taken in 1928. The teacher is Samuel Spatz, who taught in Rexingen until the end of 1932. Trude is third from the left in the second row. Next to her stands her sister Meta. Her older sister Bella can be seen in the row with teacher Spatz.
